Rabbi Joshua Gruenberg

Hello.  My name is Joshua Gruenberg and I am the new Rabbi here at Congregation Sons of Israel in Upper Nyack, New York.  I grew up in Westchester County so I arrive with some knowledge of Rockland County from my USY days.  After graduating from what was then known as SUNY Binghamton with a degree in Political Science, I began a career in the Jewish World by teaching for two years at the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester.  I received my Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary in May 2002.  After Ordination I worked at the Solomon Schechter School of Long Island as the Rabbi-in-Residence and Director of Judaic Studies for two years.  I enjoyed my time there, and loved working with students from age five to eighteen.  However, I had an itch to become a pulpit Rabbi and began the search with my wife Elissa.  After spending one night and a full weekend at CSI, Elissa and I knew that this was absolutely the place for us.  We love the town of Nyack and the county of Rockland and are excited about making them our new home.  We look forward to a long and spiritual partnership here at CSI.  Please come by and see me at any time.
